It is sad to announce the departure of drummer Sarah Thompson, and we wish her well in all she endeavours to do. Stay tuned for the announcement of the new mesmeric vocalist, as we are in the final stages of auditioning now.

-July 10, 2002 -
After one a half years of being a part of mesmeric, Sommer has decided to leave the band. There are no hard feelings between her and the rest of us, and we remain friends. Unfortunately, we will not be playing the Rocket 2 gig. So if anyone knows a female singer on the Gold Coast who would like to join a band, let us know!

Thank you to all those who came to our Griffith Uni Heat at Rose 'n' Crown.
Crazy as it may seem, today is the first official day of recording for the mesmeric camp, finally!! Over the next few weeks we will busy completing the four tracks we have chosen to be recorded. Two awesome guys, Luke & Halstein from Griffith University are doing the production for the recording, as well as the actual recording. We are looking forward to getting it done and out there.

Greetings all, just announcing we have a few gigs coming up, which you can check out in the gig guide (linked above). Other than that, there ain't much going on of late besides the usual, but you know if you come back here regularly you'll be the first to find out when it does, mmmkuh?

- January 31, 2002 -
Wow! That's all we can say about the gig at the Acacia. Despite a rather large and insurmountable technical difficulty, and my own common cold-ridden sinuses (Sommer speaking here), we managed to have a really fun performance. Thanks to those in the crowd dancing, 'moshing', and having a good time; whose energy filtered straight back on to us. It was a blast!

- December 31, 2001 -
Once again, big thanks to everyone who came along to the Edinburgh Castle Hotel last night to support us and to vote for us. This resulted in another win of the night's band competition, so hooray for us! We also have motivation (not to mention funds) to get our asses into gear to record a demo CD, so hopefully the wait will be less. Fingers firmly crossed!
Also, a very Happy New Year to all, and good luck for a prosperous year in 2002.

Just announcing a new gig; December 30, at the Edinburgh Castle in Brisbane, where mesmeric will hit the stage at about 9:00 pm. Come along and see us play, or at the very least, join our mailing list so you can hear about us playing, while not actually hearing the performance :)

A big thanks to everyone who voted for us last night at the Jubilee, resulting in our exciting win! We were once again up against Neon Black, with whom we've competed at the Plough Inn a few months back, as well as two great and individual bands; Holster and U-then8. We once again thank everyone for coming, it's appreciated more than can be explained in words. mesmeric are now looking into recording a demo CD in the next few months, which will possibly be available for sale at gigs.
In other news, we're also seeing about having some mesmeric shirts made, which will also be available at gigs. Exciting stuff, no?
In site news, the Bio has had a little bit of a tweaking (update), as has Sommer's personal profile. Every now and then if we buy a new album or (haha) learn a new instrument, we'll be adding that to the profiles... Ciao for now!

Insane on Friday night went well, thank you to everyone who came for their support, it really is appreciated. Next gig is Saturday December 1st @ The Jubilee Hotel, Fortitude Valley.

- November 14, 2001 -
Monday night at the Plough Inn was really great - topped by the fact that we managed to win the night!!! We were against three very good bands - Jarvis, Chevronblue, and Amphibious, so we were stoked and surprised to win. Currently we're getting ready for Friday night's gig (16/11/01) at Insane. We're playing at 11pm, so come along and watch if you can. After that there will be a short break as 'Schoolies Week' affects band activity. See you on December 1 at the Jubilee!

- November 10, 2001 -
Just announcing another gig, this time its down here on the Gold Coast @ Insane in Broadbeach, with Gold Coast bands Siklik and Faceless. It's on Friday 16th November, if you'd like to come along and we'll have more details closer to the date.
Other than that, we are looking forward to our gig on Monday at the Plough Inn!

- OCTOBER 31, 2001 -
Happy Halloween! mesmeric played at Paddo Tavern last night, with Vister, Bludga, and Namaste Jake; all of whom absolutely rocked the house. We had a great time, and our performance felt really good - in fact we were even asked to do an extra song. An encore, if you like! There were a lot of people there to support us, which was really great, and we once again thank everyone who came along.
Don't forget that you can catch mesmeric at the Plough Inn, Southbank, on November 12th, and The Jubilee Hotel, Fortitude Valley, on December 1. Check the gig guide for more details - and if you're lucky there might even be an addition or two.
